I didn't sleep but for 3 hours maybe. I'm not sure why but regardless 3 hours of sleep sucks. I did at least get a hot shower though.

To the movies for the first time
    8.948224°N 75.440125°W -171 m

We had such a good time tonight. Andrea and I decided to rent a car and take her family (except Roberto who was at school) to see The Fast and Furious 6, as none of them had been in a car, sans a taxi and none of them had ever been to a movie theatre either. What a blessing and opportunity from God this was. I don't remember the first movie I saw in the theatre, so what a treat it was for me to see them experience that, I was honored. Afterwards we came back from Monteria to Sahagun (an hour drive 1 way) and picked up her Mom and Roberto and ate a midnight dinner in the center of town at the restaurant pictured.

I also took some pictures of me doing 100 on the highway as I thought it was amusing, but it was 100 kmh, or about 63mph :) . What a great night!

Today was a nice baptism for the son of Michele, Andrea's brother. His name is Camilo. All of the baptism pictures are on my good camera unfortunately, but I have pictures of the time before and of the party out front of Andrea's house in the evening. There was loud music and lots of dancing to celebrate. I also took 2 pictures of the bagged water down here. You bite the corner off of the bag and squeeze it.

I also was given some pictures of Andrea when she was young, I've uploaded one here.

I wanted to take some pictures of all of the animals here. They are everywhere! Roaming around and eating or whatever. There are also dogs everywhere, I mean everywhere. Andrea tells me there are lots of snakes also, but I don't have any pictures of them. You won't see an overweight animal though, most really have to fight for food, it is sad. Actually you won't see many obese people either. I also snapped some pictures of people working, of what 1 hp looks like and of what I ate for breakfast today, as well as how they use an umbrella to protect them from the rain or the sun. None of them want to be black, lol!

    Andrea's hair
    8.950019°N 75.439560°W 62 m

After breakfast Andrea went to straighten her hair as it only costs 8 dollars here, but 80 in the US. As you can see the hair salon looks very similar to one in the US. She had to wear a do-rag afterwards, and I told her she should take that hideous thing off because she looked like she was from South-Central LA with it on. Her hair looked beautiful when done and in the before pics.

    The game
    8.950098°N 75.439601°W 82 m Carrera 13 # 19A-1 a 19A-99 Sahagun, Cordoba

Today we saw Colombia play Argentina on TV. Argentina is the best team in South America, along with Brazil. Colombia was playing at Argentina and they were huge underdogs. The whole town was watching the game, it was as big as a Steelers/Ravens playoff game. Colombia tied Argentina, 0 to 0, and probably should have won all things considered so this was considered a victory by the town, and Argentina was embarassed of this game. After the game was over, everyone celebrates by riding around on their mopeds blaring their horns and yelling. I was able to participate and it was so much fun. There was literally a caravan of at least 1000 mopeds, maybe 2000, it was absolute insanity. I have a video of the chaos, but in short, this would trump any Harley caravan that you have ever seen!

Also are some pictures of the delicious dinner I had during the game, and Andrea and I in Colombian jersey's. Her Mom bought me one as a gift, it is cool. We went out for icecrean after the parade and I noticed they show a movie on a big screen in the park for the kids. Andrea also tried to convince me to ride on the moped while she drove, I took some pictures of her driving, but there was no way in hell I was going to be driven around by her :) . She does ok though, she wants to be my ride or die girl.

Ellianna caught a very tropical looking bird, it was neat and was called a "loro". Then a big storm rolled through, I thought the clouds looked neat so I took some pictures of them. Then a picture was delivered of Andrea and I that was very nice. I must be getting old though because I think for the first time in my life I was air brushed :)

    8.950052°N 75.439595°W 109 m

Today was so much fun at the farm. There were cows, donkeys, dogs, chickens, turkeys, birds and horses. I got to hold the turkey, ride the donkey and lay in the hammock with the puppies. I also was able to meet Andrea's grandparents, her Mom's parents. The landscaping was awesome and hard to capture on film, but it is rolling hills with grass. Some of the hills have steps cut into them, which Andrea says is natural, but I don't think so ... I think that was done for farming purposes.

    8.949973°N 75.439533°W 100 m Carrera 13 # 19A-1 a 19A-99 Sahagun, Cordoba

Today we went to the beach in Sucre, Colombia. Only Roberto and Andrea had been to the beach before so this was a lot of new fun for the kids. It took about 1.5 hours to drive there. Most of the roads were good, but there were a few bad spots in places. I love driving in Colombia because it is like you are driving in Grand Theft Auto, which is my dream. It is going to be a little difficult to adjust back to the US with all of its driving laws and speed limits. As you can see, the beach is beautiful and the water was like bath water, literally! It must have been 85F, the air temperature at 90F with a nice 10mph beach breeze.

I let Roberto pose for a picture driving, although he does not yey know how to drive a car, and I let Andrea pose for a picture using my credit card although she does not yet know how to have a credit card :) .

This morning was our last morning with Andrea's family, it was sad but I miss home and am excited to get home also. Most of the morning her family spent the day in our room expressing love and sadness. Andrea's Mom rode to the airport with us and then we got on the plane and flew to Bogota to spend the night.

Bogota is much cooler than Sahagun, but I'm happy to not be sweating all of the time. The view of the mountains is very pretty and the room is much bigger and nicer, maybe they made a mistake because we paid the same price for it. We went out to eat and you can see the meal I got for 12 US dollars! I couldn't even finish it all and I was quite hungry.
